Akko, also know as Acre in Israel is a World heritage site. It is a walled city that dates way back in time. It’s pretty amazing to walk the underground caverns and explore the city too. It is actually two cities in one. One above ground and the other below.
Akko, Israel – Akko Shop
Akko, also know as Acre, Israel is a coastal town located in the northern part of Israel, just north of Haifa.
How To Get Here
There is bus service (Egged and NTT) and from Tel Aviv to Akko. You can take a bus from the airport to the bus station in Tel Aviv. There is also train service to Tel Aviv. The same companies provide service from other cities in Israel such as Jerusalem.
If you are already in the country, renting a car is a great option as you can explore on your own. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions.
Where To Stay
I did not stay at a hotel on Akko, the visit was short and only an evening. I stayed at the Dan Carmel Haifa Hotel in nearby Haifa which is on the top of hill overlooking the city of Haifa; pretty amazing views from there. There are plenty of places to stay in Akko though.
