Oh my, why not? I was pretty amazed by what I saw when I visited. The Republic of San Marino is a principality within Italy. The center of the region sits at the top of a mountain. It will take you some time to explore it all, but its totally worth it. Did I mention the unprecedented view? Especially when it rains. Plus, its a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well.
San Marino is located completely in Italy. It’s a principality. Its southwest of the town of Rimini.
How To Get Here
There is no train service to San Marino; its only accessible by roadway or I guess possibly a helicopter, but not sure if there are helipads up there or its even allowed. You must first take the train to the town of Rimini, then take a local bus up to San Marino. Trenitalia offers the train service. You can book your ticket at Rail Europe or at the train station that you board.
