Lille is a city that most just pass through via bus on the way from London to Paris or vice versa, like I did. However, it has a lot to offer and is not visited a lot at all. It’s also a place to learn the culture of northern France. Next time, make Lille your destination.
I still need to return to truly explore this city some more. But my tiny taste really want me to return and you should take a look too. I especially love the airport train station. You’ll see what I mean when you visit.
Chartres is know for its Cathedral. Mention the name of the town and that’s the first thing you hear. It’s also within easy reach of Paris as a day trip or you can spend a day or two out there. It’s beautiful country and the town is very quaint.
157. Juno Beach, France. In wars no one wins. Juno Beach is a place where the Allied forces, the Canadians and the British in this instance landed during World War II. This happened on D-Day, June 6, 1944.
Bordeaux, France is one of those places where wine is like water, well kind of. It’s the only airport I’ve been to that has its own winery in the airport. How cool is that? It’s unfamiliar destination number 144.
Mulhouse, France is a small town near the border of Switzerland and Germany in the northeastern part of France. It’s unfamiliar destination number 121.
The first place I ever visited is still worth visiting; its Fort-de-France, Martinique.
Toulouse, France. It’s so much more than the home of Airbus Industries. Lots to eat and do as well.
Marseilles, this southern port town in France has lots to see and do and amazing food as well.
For a quaint French village experience, I suggest you stop in Roissy-en-France the next time you plan a visit to Paris. It’s right next to Charles de Gaulle airport.
