Fairbanks, Alaska is pretty far up there. As a matter of fact, it sits just under 200 miles by road from the Arctic Circle. It is way northeast of Anchorage, also in Alaska and is bordered in the southeastern part of the city by the Tanana River.
How To Get Here
By Train
The Alaska Train runs between Fairbanks and Anchorage, Denali and Talkeetna.
By Plane
The closest airport is Fairbanks, Alaska (FAI). The following airline serves the airport:

Fairbanks is for those who love the outdoors, but there are other things as well. And you can also see the Northern Lights, just head into the Arctic Circle that’s less than 100 miles away.
There are also parks, Museums a botanical garden and Zoo. Fairbanks is also the land of the midnight sun as well as almost 24 hours of darkness during the winter solstice.
I’ve seen the midnight sun in Anchorage and its pretty amazing.
