Its a piece of Germany in Texas and its pretty amazing to see.
Fredericksburg is located deep in the heart of Texas Hill Country. I did not make up that name, that’s what its called. Its just north of San Antonio and west of Austin both in Texas.

Where To Stay
There is a mix of bed and breakfast and full service hotels to choose from here in Fredericksburg. There’s even a place called the Hangar Hotel which is at the county airport :-).
==>> Try Airbnb.
Where To Eat
This place has tons of places to eat. Main Street is full of eateries, so just walk and take your pick. I ate at the Vaudeville which is a pretty high end restaurant with really good service and food.
What To Do
Walk and just check out the old stores on Main Street as well as the Museums. Not to be missed is Nimitz Plaza where the National Museum of the Pacific War; its like going back to the War time. It’s a bit moving walking through it. There are also a few Parks as well as the Wildseed Farms which has a winery and also beer. The poppy flowers as well as the Texas bluebells are just amazing if you go when they are in bloom. There’s also a trolley that will take you around town as well.
