Why Houston, Texas?
When you think of a U.S. city to visit, Houston, Texas is usually not the one that comes to mind. It should though as it has museums, NASA Space Center, a Zoo plus a number of Parks that are worth visiting. And these are only a few of the attractions.
Houston is located in the state of Texas just 50 miles inland from Galveston and is the 4th largest city in the United States. Texas is in the southern United States and borders with Mexico in the south and Louisiana to the east. It is the largest city in the state of Texas.
How To Get Here
In the hey days, Houston was a big train stop. As a matter of fact, the current home of the Houston Astros baseball team, Minute Maid Park is the old Union Station. All that grandeur is now replaced by a small trailer-like building which houses the Amtrak stop in downtown Houston.
There are two major international airports in the Houston area (George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby International).

Houston boasts having the highest number of restaurants per capita. You can literally get any kind of food here.
What To Do
The city is choc-a-bloc with things to do and also some unique Texas experiences. They now have a Hop on/Hop Off bus that helps you to take advantage of the experiences. One other source is the Houston Pass which gives you access to a number of attractions for one low price. There are also a large number of museums in the Museum District, which is accessible by the Light Rail, as well as other parts of the city.
