Why
Kandy is a city of wonders including the mighty Mahaweli River; Sri Lanka’s longest river. Plus the Temple of Tooth is actually located here. Most come to Kandy to see the Temple of Tooth, but the city has so much more to offer.
Where
Kandy is located just about in the middle of the country just about northeast of the capital Colombo.
How To Get Here
By Train
There are no trains that arrive here from another country. Kandy is accessible by train from the capital city of Colombo.

Kandy is accessible by buses from Colombo and other parts of the country.

If you are already in the region you can take the drive. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions.

On my stay, I stayed with Cinnamon Hotel Kandy which is located on the banks of the Mahaweli River. They offer tours down the river.

Where To Eat
There are many places in the city to eat. You can eat at the local restaurants or from the street vendors. One thing to do is if you stay at Cinnamon Hotel Kandy, you can have dinner at a special place down the river; its magical.
