Why La Línea de la Concepción?

Unless you fly into or take a ferry/boat/yacht/cruise ship to Gibraltar, you have to get to La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, Spain first before you get to Gibraltar as they are connected by a narrow strip of land. It’s a quiet town that deserves a look rather than being that town across the way.

Where To Stay
When I went to Gibraltar, I actually stayed across the border in Spain as it was a tad pricey to stay in Gibraltar. I stayed at the hotel Miramar (I think) in La Línea de la Concepción, Cádiz, Spain right at the Spanish border. Here’s my view. I can see the Gibraltar airport runway and the cruise ship port.
Most of the hotels are local brands except for a Holiday Inn and a Mercure.
