This is an amazing engineering feat and absolutely worth seeing. Plus the large ships that pass through the canal will blow your mind.

The Miraflores Locks is located about 1.5 hours drive from Panama City due west.

The closest airport is  Tocumen International Airport (PTY); the home of Copa Airlines.

You can take the MiBus from the Albrook Bus station to the Miraflores Locks.

If you are already in the region you can take the drive. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions. This is the best way to get there.

Where To Eat

There is a restaurant at the Visitors Center. Otherwise you have to find a place to eat enroute to the Locks.

 

What To Do

Visit the Locks. Just stand and marvel at the place and the ships that pass through. Also, if you’re lucky, you’ll see some of the birds of the region. It’s a nice drive from the city of Panama out to this area as well.
