21. Molins de Rei, Spain
Why Molins de Rei?
If you’re like me and just had a little too much of Barcelona, then Molins de Rei is a great way to unwind. It’s a tiny working class town that will give you a great taste of the Spanish culture. I actually found this place as it has a Holiday Inn there and the price was cheaper than staying in Barcelona :-).

Where To Stay
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express here and the only issue I had was the Wifi was slow, other than that its in a great location near a location and within easy walking distance of the center of the city and train station. There’s also an Ibis plus a local hotel called Hotel Calasanz. Check below for more on places to stay.

Where To Eat
There are many small places to eat to get a local flavor of the area. In addition, there are a few bars as well as grocery and fruit stores. Also head to the Mercat where you can get fruits and other foods.
What To Do
The reason for heading to Molins de Rei is to relax and enjoy the local scene. So there’s not much to do but just that. You have to head to Barcelona is you want something different. Walk around the city and enjoy the architecture. There’s also a market called Mercat in Catalan that is worth checking out.
