A river runs through it, well a canal fueled by the Trent River. Its a beautiful town in the middle of the country with a forest called Sherwood nearby and a famous Sheriff; well at one time anyway.
It’s located in the middle of the United Kingdom; just about. The region is called the Midlands. It sits in the county of Nottinghamshire of course. Also not too far away are the larger cities of Manchester and Birmingham.
How To Get Here
Nottingham is served by the East Midlands Airport (EMA). The closest large airport is Birmingham (BHX), which means that you have lots of airlines to choose from to get to the region. If you are already in the United Kingdom you can take the drive. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions.
There is a Nottingham train station and a beautiful one right in the middle of the city. This means that if you go to http://www.nationalrail.com/ you can find fare information. You can do an open return which is a bit more expensive or a single day return from most larger cities in the U.K.
While in the city, you can get around by light rail and local buses quite easily or you can just walk.
Where To Stay
Lots of hotels and bed and breakfasts in this city. Use the link below to find something suitable.
Where To Eat
Nottingham has lots of places to eat as well as, its the UK, so many pubs too. Beer is a thing here.
Also, try Millie’s Cookies. They are all over the U.K.; just the best cookies ever.
What To Do
Nottingham surprised me with things to do. Did you know that one of the Batman movies was filmed here? Yup at the Wollaton Hall. Each time I visit my friends there, I never get a chance to go but will soon. Nottingham is also home to Robin Hood; you may see him on your visit.
The shopping is good as there are several stores and malls in the downtown area. As you go through the area, stop and look at the architecture, its lovely.
Nottingham also has a number of fine Pubs, plus you can also get Pub Tours. Apparently there city is build above a number of underground caverns.
