Why Portlligat?

Portlligat, Cadaqués, is a small town in the Catalunya section of Spain. It’s the eastern most town in Spain. It’s also the home to the Salvador Dali House Museum.

Where is Portlligat?

Portlligat is located is located just south of the French border on the northern coast of Spain in the Costa Brava region of Catalunya.

 

How To Get Here

There are a few ways to get here, lets look at them:

By Bus

There are national and local city buses in Spain to get you around.

Eurolines has service to Figueres then you can take a bus or a taxi to Portlligat.

There are also the SARFA buses to Cadaqués. From here is a 15 minutes walk to Portlligat or you can take a taxi. Check online for their schedules for routes within Costa Brava to/from Girona and other areas.

The Sagales bus service will take you from the Barcelona airport to the Girona area then you can get a bus to Portlligat.

By Train

The Spanish rail service, Renfe serves Figueres. Also, there is service from France on SNCF. From there you can take the bus to Portlligat.

By Plane

The closest airport is Gerona, Spain (GRO). There is bus service from the airport to the city.

The airlines serving Girona are:

brussels airlines (SN), Jet2.com (LS), Jetairfly (TB), Pobeda Airlines (DP), Ryanair (FR), Thomas Cook Airlines (MT) and Transavia (HV).

By Ferry

There are ferries to Cadaqués and then you can walk to Portlligat or take a taxi.

By Car

If you are already in the region you can take the drive. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions.

By Shared Ride

You can use ridesharing service BlaBlaCar.

There are no restaurants in the small town, but the neighboring town has places to eat.
