Why Rimini, Italy
This little town is quite the gem. Most just use it as a way to get to San Marino, but oh my. It’s an old walled city with cobblestone streets in certain areas.
Rimini is located on the northern coast of Italy, just northeast of San Marino.
How To Get Here
There i no train service to San Marino; its only accessible by roadway. You must first take the train to the town of Rimini, then take a local bus up to San Marino. Trenitalia offers the train service. You can book your ticket at Rail Europe or at the train station that you board.
The closest major airport to Rimini, is the Federico Fellini International Airport (RMI) in Rimini.

Rimini used to be a walled city and some of the wall can still be seen as you explore the city. Including August Arch which is one side of the city. It is a walking city and you can even see remains of the amphitheater. Here’s a list of things to do here:
