Ferry

There are no ferry services to the Visitor Center, but there is ferry service from say Akko to Haifa, then you’d take the train to the nearby Nahariya station and then take a cab or bus by Nateev Express to the Visitor Center.

Train

There is train service to nearby Nahariya Station on Israel Rail then take a cab or bus by Nateev Express to the Visitor Center. You can also find information from the Tourist Department.

Car

If you are already in the country, renting a car is a great option as you can explore on your own. Just use a service like Google Maps for directions.

Where To Stay

You can stay in the city of Rosh Hanikra or in Akko or Haifa if you like. Lots of places to stay here.

I just did an afternoon trip and stayed in Haifa at the Don Carmel Hotel.

What To Do

The purpose of this post is to get you to visit the site at this Visitor Center. You are at the very top of Israel and on a clear day you can see Haifa in the distance as you see in the photo below. The same is actually true if you’re in Haifa.

Visit the Grotto by either walking down to them or taking the paid cable car. You can also watch a movie about the history of the place. It’s pretty fascinating.

I was quite intrigued by the border gate between Israel and Lebanon. Does not look like you can cross there though. My tour guide says I can go to Lebanon, but I can’t come back. I was not sure if he was joking or not.

There were plans at one point o build a railway connecting Cairo, Haifa and Beirut, but it never got finished. Parts of it can still be seen including some of the tracks.
