71. Spandau, Berlin Germany
Spandau, Germany is a city located about 20 minutes by train on the edge of Berlin. It’s known for its Citadel, churches, the two rivers that intersects there and its rich cultural history. And its actually older than Berlin believe it or not. It is pronounced, not as it looks, but as “Sshpandau”.
Spandau is located west of Charlottenburg in Berlin and sits where the Havel and Spree rivers meet within earshot of Tegel airport.

Where To Eat
My word, you will find no shortage of places to eat here. My favorite is this pizza place that makes hand tossed pizza with an old oven. They even make some so big that you need two people to take it to the car.
What To Do
Spandau has a number of great things to do and see. From the Citadel, to the Gothic House, to the cobblestone streets and the Spree River, Spandau delivers a slightly different experience than you’d have in Berlin proper. With two rivers meeting in the city it’s a great walking city, plus there are a few walks that you won’t believe you are still in the city. Plus, there’s shopping and there’s an IKEA!
Oh, there are several churches as well.
