Why
Troon is a town that really surprised me when I visited. It’s small, quaint has good ice cream and seems like a great place to just relax and they have golf. Plus. its an easy walk from the train station. And it’s a golfer’s paradise as its home to the Royal Troon Golf Club. As a matter of fact, this entire Scottish coast is a golfer’s paradise.

What To Do
Golf at the prestigious Royal Troon Gold Club. Also, head to the beach which gets very popular in the summer time. Apparently, Troon has the largest beach in all of Scotland. And watch out for the seagulls.

Troon also has a ferry terminal which will take you Ireland, but check before you go to ensure that the service is still running. If you are into sailing, Troon is the place to go as well. Not far away, is Dundonald Castle, which should also be on your list.
