Why Tseung Kwan O

Hong Kong is visited by many each year, but few head north east of the hub of it all to Tseung Kwan O. This is a town of locals, very quiet and gives you a taste of life in Hong Kong. It has some amazing high rises and amazing views.

The area is served by CityBus. You can take the local bus, the E22A from the Hong Kong Airport Bus Terminal. This bus will take you right to the Tseng Kwan O train station.

Where To Stay

When I visit this area, I stay in the Crowne Plaza or the Holiday Inn Express that are both above the Tseung Kwan O station.

Where To Eat

This area has a number of places to eat in the Popcorn Mall as well as on the nearby streets. There are no street food in this area, just a lot of local neighborhood restaurants.

What To Do

The center of this area is the Pop Corn Mall. I still have not figured why its called this; you let me know when you do.

It’s a residential area, so just take walks and enjoy the beauty and peace of the area. There’s also an area down by the waterfront to take walks as well. If you are so inclined, you can take the rail into Hong Kong proper.

 

 

You may also take some time to visit the Nan Lian Gardens a little under five miles away.
